Ketchup from tomatoes through a meat grinder with citric acid – Banddage

The amount of sugar and salt should be adjusted to your liking.

You will need: 3 kg of tomatoes, 3 medium onions, 50 g of garlic, 1 tsp. ground red pepper, 0.5 tsp citric acid, 120 g sugar, 20 g salt.

Preparation: Peel the tomatoes and pass through a meat grinder. Peel the onion and garlic from the husk and chop in the same way. Mix all the preparations in a saucepan with a thick bottom, add sugar, salt, pepper and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour in citric acid, boil the ketchup for another 15 minutes and roll it into sterilized jars.
